- Hoamsan Mountain Fortress Site
The surface of the mountain fortress resembles a long diamond shape extending from northeast to southwest, and is a typical peak-banding style fortress alongside ridges some 325 meters above sea level, which made the most of its natural geographic features for defense. The precise state survey conducted in 2014 found that the circumference of the fortress was around 1,547m while its area amounted to 69,689 square meters. Its estimated time of construction traces back to the era of the Three Kingdoms of Korea (late 6th century - early 7th century).
warning※ peak-banding style fortress: A fortress horizontally encircling the peak of a mountain along its ridge.
